10/10 - Where Was I? answers: When this group of talented people practice their 'ooze' they make a soft, smooth, humming sound. (To be continued.)

10/9 - A perfect fall day for two major football games in the area. Marinette beat Menominee 32 -28 at fan-packed Walton-Blesch Field in Menominee. In Stephenson i was homecoming day with the JV anv Varsity teams hosting St. Ignace, and winning both games. The final score of the JV game was 52 - 42. Shaw Robinson rushed for l77 yards and made 2 touchdowns to help the varsity win 38 to l4. Ryan DeKing and Tashina Sieminski, both SHS seniors, were crowned homecoming king and queen during halftime ceremonies
People gathered early for the parade through downtown Stephenson following the first game. Parents treated youngsters to sodas and ice cream cones in the balmy (at least for Upper Michigan) 70 degree weather. High school students showed their loyalty by coming up with some creative mixtures of the school colors in their hair. A few elementary students decided not to be outdone. David Johnson, a 3rd grader, had shiny streaks of blue and gold in his dark hair. "My mom (Mary) did it. She used face paint. They have it at the dime store."
Jake Ebsch and Zachary Parrett were more interested in aliens than football. They were fascinated by a technologically correct stamper that lit up each time they used it to stamp an alien image on the back of their hands. That left moms Sue Ebsch and Shannon Parrett time to visit with family and friends while waiting for the parade to start.
