Richmond Township is in the southwest corner of Osceola County. It contains the town of Reed City and the western half of the Village of Hersey. Other features include a newly paved 3 mile section of the Pere Marquette Rails to Trails State Park, which runs from Reed City to Hersey, crossing the Hersey River three times. It also includes the White Pine Trail State Park, which crosses the Pere Marquette Trail in Reed City. This is a great place to travel to for bicycling or taking a day�s hike, as the Trails links to Reed City�s 3 parks with plenty of views of the beautiful Hersey River. Parking is also available in Reed City behind Yoplait and the old Osceola Inn for hikers or bikers wanting to take the trails to other cities. Distance to Cadillac: 23 miles north. To Big Rapids: 14 miles south. To Evart:12 miles east.
