Maple Grove Township lies in the near northeastern section of Manistee County. This area sits in the middle of several tributaries to the Manistee River, including Bear Creek, Healy Creek, as well as Big Beaver and Cedar Creeks, which run through Kaleva, the township’s main community. This area also is composed of some small farms and several small sections of the Pere Marquette State Forest. A major historical landmark of this township is the Bottle House in Kaleva, which is worth a look if you’re passing through. Also, if you’re looking for a picnic spot, check out the county park just west of town. |
