Manistee Township is located on beautiful Lake Michigan in Manistee County, just north of the City of Manistee.

The southern portion of the township is contained in the Manistee River State Forest. Here the Mighty Manistee is at its widest before emptying out into Manistee Lake at Lake Michigan, with several bayous formed, great places to land a Coho or Steelhead! To the north is Orchard Beach State Park on Lake Michigan, and Bar Lake, a scenic inland lake just a half mile from the Big Lake.

For a beautiful drive, try Lake Shore Road, which will take you to both places. And don’t forget to visit Manistee, the great Victorian Port City.
