LeRoy Township, located in northwestern Osceola County, was organized in 1871 when the Grand Rapids & Indiana Railroad, (later the Pennsylvania Railroad), built a line there to transport lumber harvested in the area.
It was named after LeRoy Carr, then a land agent representative for the federal government.
Its largest community is LeRoy, where the township hall is located.
It is also the location of Pine River High School, home of the fighting Bucks.
