	Elk Township is located in the northwest corner of Lake County, about 7 miles southeast of the intersection of M-37 and M-55. This area is full of resorts and summer cottages, nestled in a chain of several dozen lakes that run south into adjoining Sauble Township - making Lake County aptly named. Major lakes include Little and Big Bass Lakes, Elbow Lake, Loon Lake and Harper Lake. The Little Manistee also runs northwest through the township, making for great canoeing and fly-fishing. Several public access points are situated along the River and at some of the lakes. Nearby communities include Dublin, a mile to the north, and Irons, right on the eastern border at 10 � Mile and Brooks Roads.
