Sebewaing, Michigan48759

| Rev. John F. J. Auch, a Lutheran minister from Ann Arbor, brought his group here in 1845. He was looking for good farmland for a settlement and planned on doing missionary work among the Indians. The village was first spelled Sibbewaing, an Indian name for crooked creek, of which one flowed nearby. Sebewaing, pronounced See-ba-wing, is well known for it's great walleye fishing and the annual Sugar Festival. It is also home to the Luckhard Museaum and the Great Lakes Lore Maritime Museum. Crooked Creek Marina offers 125 boat slips and the new county park has 30 campsites located on 14 acres of land adjacent to the Sebewaing River.
