Through heat, rain, sleet and snow and using an old 1926 road map, now 44 Model T's and their owners, disembarked the U.S.S. Badger in Ludington, Michigan on Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at 6:15pm.
After a nights stay the Model T's stopped at Babb Ford on US 10 in Reed City, Michigan for a moments rest and relaxation.
These vintage vehicles from Arizona, California, Wisconsin, are making the trek to Dearborn, Michigan to meet up with 87 other Model T's of which one is even coming from Sweden, to be part of the celebrating festivities to honor the Ford Motor Corp. which turned 100 years old on June 9, 2003.
Though this photo journalist arrived just in time to see the last of the 44 leaving on their 215 mile leg towards Dearborn, I was able to visit with a few local Model T owners who joined in today at Babb Ford.

Join the 2003 Centennial Model T Tour is celebrating Ford's 100th birthday. This 3000 mile cross country tour is not accepting additional cars, but you can
join in the celebration. Participants are from many states, Australia, and Germany. The tour organizers and participants include members of the Model T Club of America, Model T Ford Club International, Model T Club of Southern California, and the Vetern Motor Car Club of Australia.
The 42 cars of rolling ambassadors will leave Lancaster, California on Sunday May 25th, 2003 after a celebration on Saturday May 24th and arrive in Dearborn, Michigan on June 12th. The tour route stops in Lone Pine, CA on 5/25, Goldfield and Tonopah, NV on 5/26, Ely NV on 5/27, Delta, UT on 5/28, Price, UT on 5/29, Vernal UT on 5/30, Steamboat Springs, CO on 5/31, Ft.Collins, CO on 6/1 & 6/2 via Walden, Ogallala, NE on 6/3, Grand Island, NE on6/4, Sioux City, IA on 6/5 via Norfolk, Algona, IA on 6/6, Caledonia, MN via Decorah, IA on 6/7 & 6/8, Fond du lac, WI on 6/9,
Ludington, MI via the Lake Michigan ferry on 6/10, Flint, MI on 6/11. The Ford Motor Company Celebration in Dearborn is from 6/12 thru 6/16. |
