Oxford was originally named after its Township which was given its name by Otis C. Thompson, "since nearly all the settlers had ox-teams and probably would hold on to them for some years to come." |
Located along M-24, in northern Oakland county, Oxford has a population near 3,000. Once known as the "Gravel Pit Capital of the World", now most of the pits have turned into lakes and provide many recreational activities.
