Flat Rock, Michigan

Flat Rock is located in Wayne County approximately 25 miles south of Detroit between I-75 and Telegraph. Through the late 1980�s the municipality had a population of 6,853 people in an area 6.67 square miles. The ethnicity varied and Flat Rock has 16 churches of various denominations. Mazda Motors, Flat Rock Metal, and Michigan Boiler and Engineering are among the industries in the community. Flat Rock boasts two shopping centers with a major development in 1987-1988. Located on the Huron River water related activities are a major recreational source. There are a number of soft ball leagues and school sports events.
