Jonathon Sweet built a store here in 1840. He sold it to John M. Lamb
and the place became known as Lamb's Corners. Later, Sanford Kendrick
had the name of the township changed from Lomond to Dryden , honoring
the English poet, John Dryden. The town took the same name. Dryden is located in the southern portion of Lapeer County. The population was 815 at the 2000 census. The village is located within Dryden Township.
