St. Joseph Charter Township is located in west-central Berrien County, Michigan. The shoreline of Lake Michigan and the banks of the St. Joseph River create a natural boundary around a good deal of the township. Its white sandy beaches and beautiful parks with fishing and boating access make the township a favorite for swimmers, boaters and fishermen. The largest municipality in the township is St. Joseph. Historic St. Joseph is a joy for visitors and residents, offering a wide range activities and attractions. Downtown is a delight for shoppers. The brick streets are lined with specialty shops and unique eateries. Within walking distance from downtown is beautiful Lake Bluff Park. Any number of spots at the park offers a impressive view of Silver Beach and of the St. Joseph Lighthouse that stands guard over the harbor. The out lying areas of St. Joseph are largely residential, featuring many upper middle class homes. Shoreham, which lies on the shores of Lake Michigan south of St. Joseph, is just one of the smaller communities that make up St. Joseph Charter Township. |
