	Onekama Township is located on Manistee County’s Lake Michigan coastline approximately ten miles north of Manistee. The main feature of this area is Portage Lake, the county’s largest lake, which lies just a quarter mile in from Lake Michigan. This is an old resort area with a lot of history, as evidenced by many Victorian style cottages and the historic Portage Point Inn, on the north side of the lake. The township hall is located at Onekama, the area’s main community, also situated on the north side of the lake.<
