North Star Township, Michigan

	North Star Township is in Gratiot County’s central, southeastern region. Other than containing a part of the city of Ithaca in its northwest corner, this township is a rural, agricultural area. It began in 1857 with the organization of what was then known as Douglas, a station on the Ann Arbor Railroad. It was renamed North Star in 1884. This small town has remained active throughout the years, maintaining a post office and a couple of stores. The railroad is still operating there too.
