Marion Township Osceola County, Michigan This Township originated Jan. 9, 1877. It completed the organization of Osceola County.

The main business area, Marion, was started at a station of the Pere Marquette RR by Christopher Clarke and John Chadwick, and named for Mr. Clarke's wife. Mr. Clarke, a storekeeper became the first postmaster in 1880.

Lumber was cut and floated down the Middle Branch River to the Muskegon. Today, this Township remains a strong agricultural/livestock producer in the region.
