	Lafayette Township is a highly rural, agricultural area with fertile, flat farmland located at the upper eastern border of Gratiot County. It once contained up to four towns that were local trading centers until the turn of the century: Lafayette, Rathbone, Edgewood and Laingport. Geographically, its features are unremarkable, except for the Bad River, which flows through the southeast corner
