	Joyfield Township is located in Benzie County’s near southwestern corner. This township was named after a town by the same name, which existed until 1903. The town was named after the Rev. Amariah Joy, a Baptist minister who moved there from Putney, Vermont. Today, this picturesque area is a prime apple-producing region, with orchards scatteredamong its hills and winding roads.
