	Hinton Township is located in Mecosta County’s near southeastern border. It is primarily a rural area, consisting of farms and small streams. It includes several small communities such as Altona, Sylvester and Hall’s Corner. The Little Muskegon runs through the northwest corner of the Township, and can best be seen from Co. Rd. #548 at the Dam in Altona.
