	Population: 4,113 (1990) Hagar Township is located in north Berrien County, Michigan on the shores of Lake Michigan. The area's lakes combined with the township's long Lake Michigan shoreline make the region a favorite for boaters, fishermen, swimmers and sunbathers. The summer resort town of Hagar Shores to the north and the quaint village of Riverside are the townships largest communities. Riverside is in the southern portion of Hagar Township, just off US31 I-196, near the Paw Paw River. The quiet village is full of hometown pride and has undertaken the construction of a new Children's Park in the heart of the community. Resident's and visitors to the area not only can enjoy water play, but also have the opportunity for other recreation. Golfer's will welcome the challenge at Lake Michigan Hills Golf while nature lover's will like the Sarett Nature Center. This wildlife sanctuary is a favorite for school field trips, hiking, cross country skiing and many other activities.
