Boon Township is located in Wexford County\�s central/southwestern region. It is primarily a rural, wooded area, with over half the township part of the Manistee National Forest. It is sparsely populated, with only one community, Boon, established during the lumbering days. The Ann Arbor Railroad still runs through this area, and has a spur.
