Population 4,697 (1990)
Berrien Township Michigan is located in central Berrien County and is bounded on the west by the mighty St. Joseph River. The river along with a variety of lakes and streams in the township provide an ample supply of waterways for boaters and fishermen. If hiking and cross country skiing are to your liking, visit Love Creek County Park & Nature Center. This 100 acre sanctuary, on Huckleberry Road, offers an unspoiled setting with 5 miles of trails and an educational building that is open Tuesday-Sunday.
Tucked within the farms, orchards and vineyards of Berrien Township, are the towns of Eau Claire and Berrien Springs. A portions of each of these communities are within Berrien Township. Visit Eau Claire in July for the famous Cherry Festival and enter the "Pit spitting" contest at the Tree-mendus Fruit Farm. In December, the Christmas Pickle Festival is a favorite celebration in Berrien Springs. Be sure to attend the annual pickle parade led by the Grand Dillmeister!
