Arcadia is located in beautiful Arcadia Township, the northwestern corner of Manistee County.

This highly scenic area along the Lake Michigan coastline contains Arcadia Lake a half-mile inland. The town of Arcadia is a popular spot for boaters and fishermen, and contains a marina where both the lake and Lake Michigan can easily be accessed. There is also a clean, sandy beach on the Big lake for swimmers. The long stretch of M-22 that traverses Arcadia Lake just south of town is one of the more spectacular views along the state’s Lake Michigan coastline: truly a must-see for sightseers. This area has retained much of its look from the past, with well-kept turn-of-the-century houses and buildings.

The Township was organized in 1870 with the village organized ten years later.
