Aetna Township is located in the southwestern corner of Mecosta County. It’s largest community is Morley, which is where the township hall is located. The White Pine State Park Rails-to-Trails Project runs through the township, paralleling U-S 131.

Also, the little Muskegon River flows through the southeast corner . The northwest corner borders on Hardy Dam Pond, by Brower Park.
