Chelsea, Michigan48118

Photos courtesy of: Ken Huisjen | Chelsea is located in Washtenaw County, just a few miles west of the greater Ann Arbor area. It has a diverse economy, including food processing, bookcrafting and being the location for a major auto proving ground.
Chelsea was first settled in 1820 by Cyrus Beckwith, along with Elisha and James Congdon. The Michigan Central Railroad built a station here in 1850, which significantly established its future. It was named by Elisha Congdon after his hometown - Chelsea, Mass.
Major landmarks include the ClockTower, Welfare Building, Depot, and Courthouse. There are three main parks: Pierce Park, Veterans Park, and Dana Field. Some attractions include the Sidewalk Festival in early August and the Chelsea Community Fair in late August
