Welcome to Big Rapids and Mecosta County! We're home to Ferris State University with an enrollment of approximately 10,000 students.

The area also offers a wide range of activities such as golfing, hiking, bicycling, inner tubing, canoeing, bird watching, and sightseeing. We have over 100 lakes and the Muskegon River for visitors to enjoy water sports such as boating, fishing, swimming, and water skiing.
