Home of the Benzie County "Welcome Station," Benzonia lies right smack in the middle of Benzie County, on the south side of Crystal Lake. Just like its neighboring town, Beulah, Benzonia has beautiful swimming beaches and several small shops to visit. Benzonia is also famous as the birthplace of Bruce Catton, both a Michigan and Civil War historian. A historical plaque about him stands in front of the library.

Benzonia is also the home of Artist, Gwen Frostic. She has the Gwen Frostic Prints Shop where you can go and shop for unique gifts made by hand by the company. This quaint shop offers many types of writing paper, matted prints, napkins, and other items designed by Gwen Frostic herself.
