Battle Creek is located in northwestern Calhoun County, at the junctions of M-66, M-89, M-96 and I-94. Generally known as the Cereal Capital of the World, it is home of the Kellogg Company, Ralston Cereal Plant and Post Cereal Plant. Battle Creek is the largest city in Calhoun County, supported by a diverse economic base which includes, in addition to cereal, everything from steel production and auto-parts manufacturing to medical electronics and intelligence supplies. It is also headquarters to several large corporations.

In 1824, an early surveying party led by John Mullett encountered Indians on the banks of the Kalamazoo River and fought it out with them - thus the name, Battle Creek. Key figures in the town's early history were members of the Garnsey family, who were responsible for the first government purchase of land and setting up the post office in 1832. A General Ezra Convis officially surveyed the land in 1835, with Samuel Moore registering the official plat in 1836. It was incorporated a village in 1850 and shortly afterwards as a city in 1859.

Post and Kraft addes much to this community and is greatly appreciated.
