Applegate, Michigan - 48401

Applegate, Michigan

Applegate, Michigan

This village began when George Pack built a sawmill here in 1856. Applegate was named after General Jesse Applegate, the leader of the pioneers who opened the southern road into Oregon in 1845.
Today, quaint little antique shops hold treasures of past generations. Other local business include a bank, party store, bar/grill and local post office.

The Ship Master Great Lakes Marine Museum displays replicas of past and present Great Lakes ships and nautical artifacts.
